Social Media Team Member

This is a 5-10 hour/week volunteer position within Communications branch of the Marketing Department. A dedicated individual in this medium-impact position will be in charge of the IQA’s social media accounts and maintaining the IQA’s public image across multiple platforms. They will work with the Translation branch of the Marketing Department as directed and will report to the Communications Team Leader.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all official IQA social media accounts
  • Post regularly to engage the association’s members, fans, and supporters
  • Brainstorm new, effective ways of communicating with the association’s members, fans, and supporters
  • Help ensure all official communication is clear, well-written, and accurately reflects the IQA’s standards and policies

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong people skills
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Familiarity and comfort with all major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr)
  • Ability to multitask and simultaneously track progress of multiple priorities and projects
  • Regular access to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, email and Skype

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual
  • Prior experience in a marketing role
  • Familiarity and comfort in additional social media platforms (e.g. YouTube, Reddit, Vine, Snapchat)
  • Prior experience in producing viral content
