Photo Editor

This is a project-based volunteer position within the Creative Services branch of the Marketing Department. A creative individual in this position will edit photos to be used in marketing materials for the IQA. Photo-editors will manipulate photographs in a way that catches the eye, enhances the message of the text around it, and maintains the IQA’s brand. They will report to the Communications Team Leader.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collect information and materials relative to the assignment and apply to design
  • Plan concepts based on aforementioned research
  • Submit drafts for approval and adjust based on comments
  • Work towards creating an effective and cohesive visual ‘brand’

Minimum Qualifications

  • Good people skills
  • Basic proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Open to feedback
  • Creative and flexible with an eye for a variety of styles
  • Detail-oriented and dedicated to polished results
  • Ability to multitask and simultaneously track progress of multiple priorities and projects
  • Familiarity and comfort with photo-editing software (e.g. Photoshop)
  • Regular access to email and Skype

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior professional experience in photo manipulation
  • Prior experience in lettering
  • Previous professional experience in logo design and in creating copy layouts
  • Experience in multiple mediums (e.g. digital-only, website banners, brochures)
